The Center for Birth is a freestanding community birth center located in Seattle. Amazing midwifery care and all things related to birth and postpartum. You will find a bundle of information on their website.

For my own pregnancy I used Rainy City Midwifery and was well taken care of. Their office is inside the Birth Center and is very comfortable and feels like home. I always looked forward to my visits.

Following my birth I continued care for my daughter through Rainy City Natural Medicine . Dr. Sara Alvarado is a wonderful midwife and doctor. Six years later we still see her for checkups and family medicine. Her office is inside the Birth Center.

Infant Home Phototherapy is an alternative to in-hospital treatment for babies that are jaundice. Our midwife/pediatrician set up the therapy and we were able to stay home to receive care. A nurse comes to your home to set everything up. Everyday another nurse comes to check blood levels and communicates with your doctor. We had such a good experience.

Dr. Cara Hartz, ND is a wonderful physician that helped me with postpartum migraines. She spends lots of time with you and is very supportive to the entire family. ByHartz

  • Products I Like

TiRain Wrap is for postpartum recovery. I found it very useful in providing great support. It comes in 3 different pieces, each a different size/shape (waist, stomach, and pelvis). It was great to wear when my sacrum felt unstable, and added nice pressure on my hips .

Baby K'tan is a very easy to use carrier and sling. It comes pre-wrapped and has two pieces. It was comfortable, simple and washed well. I found it perfect for my daughter who was very tiny . Most carries would swallow her up and she ended up far away from my body. This one felt perfect for both of us.

The Medela Nursing Bra is a super comfortable tank I used for years. I lived in it! It has a less fitted bottom half and no wires and is super easy to unhook with one hand. It comes in two colors and washes well.

The Magic Circle is a helpful tool to have for your at home workouts. It will add resistance to the exercises and can be used for both upper and lower body. There are many different sizes, so find one that might work best. I personally do not like ones that are heavy. Magic Circle & Poster

Hand Weights are great to have at home for building upper body strength, balance and leg work. I recommend having a few different sizes (2lb-5lbs).

A Foam Roller is a nice tool to have at home for a wide variety of uses ( balance, massage, restorative rest, rehab). There are a ton to choose from. They come in different sizes and densities. Pick one that you feel is best for your body.

A Stretching Strap is needed for A.I.S and becomes your partner at home. I like this strap because it has many different loops to accommodate different stretches and bodies.

Yoga Blocks are helpful when working on alignment, flexibility and balance. They are great to bring into sessions at home to increase awareness and add variety.

Exercise Mats are needed when you have a rough, or hard surface. It can be a challenge to complete the exercises on your back if you do not have good support and cushion for your spine. Thin Mat, Thick Mat
